1) What causes acne?

Acne occurs when hair follicles on our facial skin get clogged by oil. This generally starts to occur during puberty when the sebaceous glands starting to produce more sebum (oil) due to hormonal change.

There is a kind of bacteria called P. acnes, found on our facial skin. When the this bacteria is clogged in the hair follicles, it will start to multiply rapidly. During the multiplication process, the bacteria will produce a substance that will cause skin inflammation.

When the hair follicle to burst (might occur naturally or occur when a person constantly scratch or touch his face) spreading the inflammation substance produced by the bacteris to other parts of his face. Hence causing further acne lesions.

2) What are the symptoms of getting acne?

Some symptoms will be :
i) comedo - enlarged hair follicles, clogged with sebum and bacteria. The comedo can be found underneath the skin and is generally called whitehead.

ii) The blackhead. It occurs when comedo grows larger, it will start to reach the skin surface and open the facial pore.

iii) Papules - pink bumps on the facial skin.
iv) Pustules - we call this pimple.
